Locking stitch, needle up/down, the thread cutter and the speed slider are all on the panel, so the machine can be run without reaching for anything.
Direct select keys
The most-used stitches have their own keys, so choosing one is a single press rather than a scroll through a menu.

The threader takes the thread through the eye for you, which is the difference between starting a seam and hunting for reading glasses.
